TGIF! Game Updates for December 4, 2020

Welcome to December everyone! As the longest year ever (at least it’s felt that way…) begins to come to a close, we’re keeping things rolling with new events, changes and fixes to the games.

Read on to find out what’s new this past week in gaming news.

In-Game Events

Jolly Blackbeard returns with the Holiday Raid Event! Pass all the checkpoints to earn the updated Holiday 2020 Loot Chests. We’ve also upped the amount of Stamina you can use per Power Attack to 200, so make sure to check that out!

Kano Play Avatar Update

On Kano Play server 2, there were some cases where a player’s avatar would appear broken, so we rolled out a fix for that this week. This will change a few things so let’s go over it.

All avatars on server 2 going forward will need to be sourced from Gravatar, which we have used on Kano Play since its inception. If you don’t have a Gravatar account set up, your picture will default to the generic “no photo” image.

To set up a Gravatar account, head on over to gravatar.com and sign up with the same email address you use on Kano Play server 2. If you don’t recall what email this is, contact Support and we’ll be happy to help you out. Once you upload an image that you would like to use on Gravatar, make sure that it is rated “G” with their rating system in order for it to show up on server 2.

Animated Health Bars on the Mobile Apps

This week we made a small change to the mobile apps which animated the Health bars in the game to give it a smooth transition instead of jumping whenever attacks have been made.

As a result of this change, highly contested fights like Hitlist did see the addition of an animation to the Health bar.. When you miss a hit, the Health of the target will update to show it's at 0 (as it did previously), but now comes along with an animation. The window of time to kill the target has not changed.

Bounty Blitz Week Next Week!

Next week is the last Bounty Blitz event of the year, so make sure to get in on the action! From Monday December 7 to Sunday the 13, every game will have an increased number of Blitzes per day unless it conflicts with a preexisting event like Wars or Raids.

Next week, we'll be holding an Admin Blitz in Zombie Slayer! If you're around on the following date, make sure to drop by and nab some sweet cash off of some Kano folk:
